This is only my opinion, of course-maybe you will not think that it is much better than Zenon Franco's book. It seems I am a strong club player even with the tv on and 4 kids running around I like it a lot but apart from obvious differences in themes and style I fail to see why it is fundamentally so much better than the Zenon book? Is it the instructional value of the comments? The games chosen? You already said it had to do with focus on endgame technique but why this is better i dont realy get? I went through the intro and the first game. I just recived a used copy of Rate your endgame a few days ago. The primary reason is probably that the positions are fairly simplified, and hence can focus on one topic: endgame technique. ![]() Rate Your Endgame is a much, MUCH different type of "solitaire chess" book, and in fact is the only one I've ever seen that does this format successfully. ![]() I bought Zenon Franco's book years ago but strongly disliked it (I ended up giving it to a club mate). I was very eager to get this book, but unfortunately it is very difficult to find it.ĭid you mean Rate Your Endgame? There are 8 used copies in right now, starting at $18.03.
